ABOUT US
Ïzza is a jewelry and accessories brand inspired by the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean peoples.
Founded in Spain in 2020 by the designer Alba Gutiérrez, the work in our workshop begins a few years after traveling extensively through Morocco, Algeria and Turkey; countries where he made contact with old artisans who taught him the trade of weaving and where he perfected some craft techniques such as goldsmithing.
This became a turning point in the work that she had been developing since her youth in various artistic fields and in her vision as a designer.
Over the years and after having successfully reached the public, and also with a new name and image, he moved his atelier to Asturias and began to produce pieces and collections from the character of the mixed culture in which he is immersed.
THE WORKSHOP
One of the things that has always determined the work of our founder is her direct connection with the rural and the traditional.
Being young and living in the rural world is very complicated. If we add to that being a woman and an artisan, much more. That is something that Alba has experienced in her day-to-day work and what the future offered her with this new idea of an artisan workshop that promotes fair trade and self-sufficiency for families at social risk.
Going back to the origin to face the future is the main idea of this project that combines tradition with the new creative trends of artisans from different countries.
And that is why ÏZZA is a new concept of craft workshop: because it encompasses the work of an artisan woman from rural Spain with the work of creative women or independent artists from other Mediterranean countries; that for different reasons do not have a solid platform to publicize their work or where the product they make is really valued.
With this idea, apart from disseminating the artisanal work of an enterprising woman committed to her origins, we contribute to the economic development of sensitive economic sectors in North African countries, especially rural women._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_
